Responsible Gaming
Version: 1.0 | Last Updated: June 04, 2026
At Realz, we believe that gaming should always be an enjoyable, voluntary, and affordable form of entertainment. We are committed to providing a safe and responsible gaming environment for all our players. This Responsible Gaming Policy should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Our Commitment
1.1. A Safe Environment for Every Player
Realz takes its social responsibility obligations seriously. We invest in player protection tools, staff training, and ongoing monitoring to ensure that our platform supports responsible play. Our approach is built on the following principles:
- We only permit adults of legal gambling age to register and play;
- We provide clear, accessible, and free-to-use player protection tools;
- We do not target advertising at vulnerable individuals or minors;
- We train our customer support team to identify signs of problem gambling and respond with care;
- We partner with and signpost players to accredited gambling support organisations;
- We regularly review and improve our responsible gaming programme.
1.2. Gambling as Entertainment
Gambling is designed to be entertaining — not a source of income or a way to recover financial losses. We encourage all Players to set and adhere to personal limits before they begin playing and to treat any winnings as a bonus rather than an expectation.
2. Recognizing Problem Gambling
2.1. Warning Signs Checklist
Problem gambling can develop gradually and may not always be easy to recognise. Ask yourself the following questions honestly. If you answer “yes” to several of these, it may be time to seek support:
- Do you gamble with money that is meant for essential expenses such as rent, food, or bills?
- Do you find yourself gambling for longer periods or with larger amounts than you originally intended?
- Have you tried to cut back or stop gambling but found it difficult to do so?
- Do you feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to reduce or stop gambling?
- Do you return to gambling after a loss with the intention of “winning it back”?
- Have you lied to friends, family, or colleagues about the extent of your gambling?
- Has gambling negatively affected your relationships, career, or mental health?
- Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or engaged in dishonest behaviour to fund gambling?
- Do you use gambling as a way to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties?
- Do you feel a loss of control over how much time or money you spend gambling?
If you answered “yes” to three or more of the questions above, we strongly encourage you to use one of our player protection tools and to reach out to a support organisation listed in Section 6 of this page.
3. Player Protection Tools
3.1. Deposit Limits
You can set a maximum amount that you are willing to deposit over a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Deposit limits take effect immediately when set or decreased. Increases to a limit are subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period before taking effect, giving you time to reconsider. To set a deposit limit, go to your Account settings or contact us at support@thehughesjonescentre.ca.
3.2. Loss Limits
A loss limit caps the total amount you can lose over a chosen time period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once a loss limit is reached, you will be unable to place further wagers until the period resets. Like deposit limits, reductions are immediate; increases take effect after a 24-hour review period.
3.3. Wagering Limits
Separate from deposit and loss limits, you may set a maximum total wager amount per day, week, or month. This tool allows you to cap your total betting activity independently of your wins or losses.
3.4. Session Time Limits & Reminders
You may set a maximum session duration, after which you will be logged out automatically. You can also enable periodic session time reminders at intervals of your choosing (e.g., every 30, 60, or 90 minutes), which will display an on-screen notification showing how long you have been playing.
3.5. Cooling-Off Period
A cooling-off period temporarily suspends your ability to log in to your Account and access gaming services. You may select a period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, or up to 6 weeks. During a cooling-off period, you will not receive promotional communications. A cooling-off period cannot be cancelled once activated; you must wait until it expires.
3.6. Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is a formal mechanism that allows you to voluntarily ban yourself from the Website for an extended period. The minimum self-exclusion period is 6 months, and you may also request a permanent self-exclusion. During self-exclusion:
- Your Account will be suspended and access will be blocked;
- Your real-money balance will be returned to you upon request;
- All marketing communications will be stopped immediately;
- Requests to lift a self-exclusion before the end of the chosen period will not be granted;
- After the exclusion period ends, a mandatory 7-day reflection period applies before reinstatement.
To initiate a self-exclusion, please contact us directly at support@thehughesjonescentre.ca. We will process all self-exclusion requests promptly. We also encourage you to register with provincial self-exclusion programmes such as GameSense or equivalent programmes in your province for a broader exclusion from gambling services.
3.7. Reality Check Feature
The reality check feature provides a pop-up notification during active game sessions showing your net win/loss position for the current session and the total duration you have been playing. This tool is designed to help you maintain awareness of your gambling activity in real time.
4. Tips for Responsible Gambling
4.1. Practical Guidelines
We recommend all Players follow these guidelines to keep gambling fun and within healthy limits:
- Set a budget: Decide how much you can afford to lose before you start, and stick to it. Never gamble with money you need for other purposes.
- Set a time limit: Decide in advance how long you will play and use session reminders to help you keep track.
- Never chase losses: Accept that losses are a normal part of gambling. Chasing losses typically leads to larger losses.
- Take regular breaks: Step away from the screen regularly — even during a winning streak.
- Balance with other activities: Ensure gambling is one of many leisure activities in your life, not your primary source of entertainment or stress relief.
- Avoid gambling under the influence: Do not gamble when you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that impair your judgement.
- Avoid gambling when emotional: Gambling when stressed, depressed, or emotionally distressed can lead to poor decisions and financial harm.
- Know the odds: Understand that all casino games are designed with a mathematical advantage for the house. There is no system or strategy that guarantees consistent winnings.
5. Protection of Minors
5.1. Age Verification
We use rigorous age verification procedures at registration and throughout the Account lifecycle to prevent individuals under the minimum legal gambling age from accessing our Services. Any Account found to belong to a minor will be immediately closed and any funds held will be returned, with winnings forfeited.
5.2. Parental Controls
If you share a device with minors, we strongly recommend using parental control software to restrict access to gambling websites. Reputable filtering tools include:
- Net Nanny — www.netnanny.com
- Qustodio — www.qustodio.com
- Kaspersky Safe Kids — www.kaspersky.com
Always log out of your Account when not in use, and ensure that your Account credentials are not accessible to minors in your household.
5.3. Responsible Supervision
As a registered Player, you are responsible for ensuring that no minor accesses your Account or participates in gambling activity through your device. If you suspect that a minor has accessed your Account, please contact us immediately at support@thehughesjonescentre.ca.
